Dear Dr Stephens,
I am writing to give you my sincere thanks, for the wonderful way that you and your staff saved my life when I was admitted as an emergency to the Coronary Care Unit in 2013.
The experience was profound, all my life I have decried the NHS, here I was going into an NHS Hospital on the weekend with a preconception of minimal staff, horror of horrors, a mixed ward.
The reality was exactly the opposite, I was in a ward of 8 beds, staffed by day by 4 dedicated (angels) nurses, and at night by 3 nurses, plus all the dedicated medical team of doctors, specialist nurse, constant cleaning by ancillary workers.
I was made aware that you personally were in contact daily with the medical team.
As you know my 85th birthday was on the 10th of January, I managed to return home on the 9th January, and my lovely wife of 56 years of marriage at 24 hours notice to organise a birthday party at our house for 14 of my family.
It was wonderful, I wanted to invite all of your staff.
I am now making wonderful progress, and feel very positive about the future, ln fact I have now started to write another book.
Kindest Regards,
Malcolm S
